OBS attends the Festival of Learning
Recently, seven OBS teachers spent three days at the annual Festival of Learning, hosted by Fieldwork Education in London. Fieldwork Education is the curriculum provider for the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC).
This year is the second year that OBS sent members of staff to attend the professional development conference offered by Fieldwork Education. OBS was represented by Daniel Ng, Sam Borek-Coxen and Tanja Alvesalo from the leadership team; as well as Zaida Hundegger, Karin Lindner, Michelle Stalder and Isha Sulmon from the teacher staff. This year’s workshop certified our four teachers who undertook a course on embedding international mindedness within our offered curriculum. The representatives of leadership were able to benefit from individualised coaching during their attendance of the IPC implementation course.
Recognising that teacher professional development is crucial for schools who place learners into the centre of their conduct, for schools who wish to challenge the status quo and continuously improve learning, OBS has made a strong commitment to teacher professional development over the past year and will continue to increase its offering to teachers as well as foster collaborations with other local and global schools.
