The OBS Class of 2026 has achieved an average International Baccalaureate Diploma score of 35 points—considerably above the 2026 worldwide average of 30.88.
Two students attained an exceptional 43 out of a possible 45 points, placing them among very high-performing IB Diploma students internationally. These achievements continue a strong record at OBS: between 2023 and 2026, 38 of 43 students successfully earned the IB Diploma.
We warmly congratulate every member of the graduating class. Their results reflect the commitment, independence and resilience they demonstrated throughout the demanding two-year programme.
From OBS to universities around the world
Members of the Class of 2026 are now taking their next steps at universities in Switzerland and internationally.
Their university pathways include the University of St Andrews and the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom; the University of St Gallen, the University of Zurich and ETH Zürich in Switzerland; the University of Helsinki in Finland; IE University in Spain; and Santa Clara University in the United States.
Students are preparing to pursue subjects including medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, chemistry and business management. The range of destinations and disciplines reflects the individual strengths and ambitions within the class, as well as the opportunities that the internationally recognised IB Diploma can create.
University preparation at OBS begins in Grade 10. Students are encouraged to explore their interests, consider possible careers and understand the subjects and qualifications required for different university programmes. As their plans take shape, they receive individual guidance with university selection, applications, portfolios and interview preparation.
What lies behind the results
Strong academic outcomes at OBS are built on high expectations, close relationships and individual guidance.
Small teaching groups enable teachers to understand each student’s strengths, follow their progress closely and respond early when additional support or greater challenge is needed. Personal coaching gives students regular opportunities to discuss their goals, workload, organisation and wellbeing, while coordination between teachers, the DP Coordinator, families and specialist staff creates a strong network of support around each learner.
Students are also helped to choose an IB subject combination that reflects their abilities and future ambitions. Throughout the programme, they are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning and develop the research, critical-thinking, communication and time-management skills they will need at university.
This balance of academic rigour, personal attention and growing independence helps students achieve strong results while preparing them for the demands of their next stage of education.
Every result tells an individual story
The two scores of 43 points are exceptional achievements and deserve particular recognition. Yet the success of the Class of 2026 extends beyond its highest scores.
Every Diploma represents an individual journey. Achievement can be found in an outstanding points total, but also in the progress a student has made, the challenges they have overcome and the confidence and independence they have developed along the way.
We are immensely proud of the Class of 2026 – for their academic achievements, for the support they have shown one another and for the young adults they have become. As they progress to universities across Switzerland and around the world, they carry with them the knowledge, skills and resilience to approach their next chapter with confidence and purpose.
