Filipino stick fighting
Stick fighting is excellent fitness training, strengthens the entire body and promotes a sense of distance. Selected elements of stick fighting are often trained as a spectacular sequence of fighting movements.
I teach Filipino stick fighting (Escrma), in which we first train with one stick and later with two. The techniques and movements can be transferred to everyday objects (e.g. pens) and are therefore highly effective for self-defence.
In addition to strength, conditions, coordination and self-defence, stick fighting addresses the following school-relevant goals:
Pedagogical Goals
- Learning to learn
- Becoming aware of the learning process
- Mistakes as a prerequisite for successful learning

- Discover and develop alternative courses of action
