PhilosophY

My philosophy as a teacher is to create a collaborative, problem-solving focused environment to prepare our students for the challenges of the real and complex world and the society of tomorrow. Therefore, I focus on a classroom culture to encourage collaboration, that helps students learn from one another, build on each other’s strengths, and develop the communication skills necessary for effective teamwork. Next to collaboration, I also focus on real-world problem-solving that goes beyond simple textbook examples and enables students to learn how to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations. I aim to create opportunities for students to solve authentic problems that they may experience in their future lives. This helps students see the relevance of what they are learning and gives them the skills and confidence to solve complex problems outside of the classroom as well as be prepared for the challenges ahead.
