Key to successful learning is the creation of a common goal between teacher and student. Nearly all students want to reach a goal (Matura, IB, good grade for home, good standing in class etc.) and once they see the teacher as a partner to reach this goal, things are easy.

Common goals

Dependent on age and personality students need reminders of their goals. Again, nearly all agree that controls (grades, tests etc.) are necessary and helpful and the teacher’s job. Ideally, this is transferred to the entire class and the teacher and the class form a team to reach the goal of successful learning.
