My teaching philosophy is motivated by the end goal: to make students interact with presented knowledge.
Encourage critical thinking
This means that they reflect on information and experiences before accepting them. I promote reflections of existing knowledge to make sense of new information. I train them that instead of accepting not knowing the answer, they should try to synthesize solutions from the information they already have. This means including situations where the answer is not directly provided, or no obvious correct answer exists. Biology is all about connecting things, like the neurons do in our brain. I want to make the students ask “why?” and “what answer makes sense?” to prepare them for the world of information they will be a part of.
