Our generation is talking about digitalisation – our children have long since become “digital natives”! They are far ahead of us in terms of technology and the use of online media. I don’t teach my students; I accompany them in their learning process. Following the “flipped classroom” principle, I let them work on topics independently using online media, computer games, artificial intelligence and visits from experts. I only intervene if they are on the wrong track, correct facts, or put them into a real context. I don’t test the acquired knowledge in written tests but have the students produce explanatory videos, hold discussions or use online quizzes. This is fun for the pupils and encourages interest in the sometimes dry business topics. The practical relevance is significant to me, as young people want to know how the real world works.
